During the half-term week in February, local young people from Ripley involved themselves in a Stencil and Graffiti art workshop run by SEND’s creative arts director, Dj Boysie and project director, Moon, at the Blend Youth Project in Derbyshire. The aim was for the young people to design and paint a mural to be mounted on the coffee bar within the project building, as well as having the experience of practicing the art of stencilism and graffiti in a safe and legal way whilst learning about the legalality of graffiti and tagging and its consequences. The project was a big success with all persons involved having input into the design of the mural and very eager for SEND to return to Blend in the near future for further music and art workshops.
Below are a series of photos taken during the week and a video montage of the whole week
